WORK RELATIONSHIPS

At work we function in a world where we usually cannot choose co-workers, where rules may differ from our personal preferences, or where there may even be different value systems that determine right or wrong, fair or unfair, good enough or not good enough.

Counselling helps individuals understand and deal with relationships between co-workers and between boss and subordinate. It also aims to help them deal with rules or systems that may differ from their personal preferences...

HYPNOTHERAPY

I have found that hypnotherapy is best used to uncover and deal with deeply rooted, underlying emotional issues. It has the effect of significantly reducing the number of sessions needed for many of the individual therapy issues while achieving lasting change – but it is by no means the only mechanism, nor is it necessarily the most appropriate.

I will only use Hypnoanalysis if I judge it to be the best option, and then only if my client is completely comfortable...

MENTAL TOUGHNESS

Mental toughness and resilience enable people to bounce back from life’s worst surprises or uncertainties. Mentally tough (or resilient) people seem to simply take everything that life throws at them in their stride. Counselling that focus on mental toughness and resilience helps guide and enable clients to handle challenges and diversity constructively through teaching or honing appropriate life skills.

CLIENT EXPERIENCE

Clients travel from across the country to see me.

While most of my client base is from Centurion and estates (Midstream, Cornwall Hill, Southdowns, Eldoglen), Pretoria and Johannesburg areas, many clients travel from across the country to see me, and refer friends and family without hesitation –often years after their therapy. To name a few towns – clients travel from Windhoek, Stellenbosch, Somerset Wes, Paarl, Port Elizabeth, Pietermaritzburg, Potchefstroom, Oudtshoorn, Ficksburg, Kimberley, Welkom, Bloemfontein, Heidelberg, Lichtenburg, Rustenburg, Parys, Nelspruit, Middelburg, Witbank, Polokwane, Dendron, Vaalwater, Tzaneen, Ellisras..

Complete therapy in relatively few sessions.

Clients find that they complete their therapy in relatively few sessions. Actual statistics over the past decade indicate that only about 1 in 10 clients needed more than 8 sessions, and 1 in 100 needed more than 10 sessions. Half of my clients completed therapy in 7 sessions or less, and a third only needed 4 sessions or less. The number of sessions depends on the individual, the nature of the issues and the extent to which they are prepared to work between sessions..

Professionals refer to me.

I get referrals from medical doctors, other psychologists, churches, schools, employers ... people trust my professionalism, expertise and ability to help with compassion and sincerity, without judgment or pre-conceived ideas, and without discrimination of any kind – be it race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or beliefs. I also find that clients are still happy to visit me again for a quick counselling session to deal with new/different challenges years later.
